These often bulky units, often requiring unconventional head positioning with short eye relief, are superb when mounted atop the unit setup this way, as you can wait in ambush and use the rifle quickly and silently over wide arcs of fire with full standing or seated support. Yes, they are a little bulky and you are unlikely to carry them onto the hill in Scotland stalking Reds but where they do perform is with rifle mounted night vision. Two height adjustable rubberised V notches sit either end of 400mm twin aluminium bars, will fold for transport and as well as having quick adjustment to fit your gun’s forend and butt stock into them, have a tilt facility above the grip, allowing elevation adjustment as well as full rotation as before. Primos offer the optional 2-point gun rest that fits atop the Trigger Sticks and coverts a single yoked rest, requiring gun support, into a fully self-stable gun rest. Now, I quite like quad sticks and have had great success shooting with them, as they offer great support but are a little bulky and often very difficult to adjust silently in the field. The yoke/grip rotates freely through 360° and a small lever behind the trigger will lock it in position to ensure no accidental adjustments are allowed. It’s silent in use and the yoke can be as low as 560mm from the ground or stand as high as 1650mm with all three legs vertical at full extension. All inner threads and workings retain the common ¼- and 3/8-inch fittings compatible with photography kit.

You can then re-apply the trigger and using the pistol grip style handle, allow each of the three legs to move freely, so that it can be positioned at the correct height with solid thee leg stability accounting for any uneven ground surface, all with one hand! The standard ‘V’ yoke above the gip has rubber fins to take a snug grip on your rifle’s forend and it also works well to support any optical accessory you may desire. The basic design ploy is that when you squeeze the trigger, the legs will fall to the floor under their own weight and can be positioned by nudging them with your feet.
